RENAP
Three weeks ago today we got out of PGN. As of Tuesday of this week, we are officially in RENAP. This is the Registro Nacional de Personas (National People Registry) which is a new (fun, fun!) Guatemalan government office that issues birth certificates. The central office in the capital has our file and reviews it which can take up to two weeks. I'm thinking, what else could they possibly need to review at this point!?! Then the file goes back to Jalapa where Samuel was born. The office in Jalapa will issue his birth certificate. Not sure how long that will take! At least we know we are finally officially "in". That's the news from here!

amie and jana took the words right off my keyboard. I'm glad it's a forward move and to see your friend leave with her daughter, that's another sign of movement. I know yours can't come soon enough.
