Samuel: You're a girl.
Me: That's right. What are you?
Samuel: Nino (Spanish for boy... yes, I'm proud)
Me: What about Daddy? Es un nino o es un hombre? (Is he a boy or a man? and yes, we speak a lot of Spanglish here)
Samuel: hombre
Me: What about Ga-ga (Grandma Beyer)?
Samuel: He a lion.
I was so proud until that last bit of confusion... both with the pronoun and my mom being referred to as a lion. Sure keeps lunch conversation interesting though... :)
